Arkansas Unemployment Claim
An Arkansas unemployment claim can be filed at the Department of Workforce Service office or by mail. There are certain requirements you have to follow in order to be eligible for benefits. You need to be unemployed, physically and mentally able to perform work, available for suitable work, and make a reasonable effort to find work. You also need to be free of participation or direct interest in a labor dispute and free of disqualification.
There’s a waiting time of one week before you receive benefits. The week that’s a valid waiting period must also be a valid week of unemployment. A week you have claimed subsequent to filing your initial claim must be the valid week of unemployment. You can’t have any earnings of less than 140 percent of your weekly benefit during this week. All eligibility requirements must be met..

The requirement that states you have to be able to work means you have to be physically and mentally able to perform work like the work you’ve done in the past or other work that you’re experienced and trained for. Availability for work means there can’t be any personal or other situations that would keep you from working. You also need to make personal efforts to find suitable work by contacting people that are hiring. After a certain amount of time, you need to seek work in associated fields where you’ll use a lesser skill.
If you’re working part time or are not working at your last job, you can file your Arkansas unemployment claim using the LOARC system. When you file a claim this way, it will take approximately 30 minutes. You’ll need your name and mailing address, Social Security number, name and address of your last employer, the last day you worked, and why you’re not working now |
